The Liszt Effect

The Liszt effect shows that a child speaks rapidly and extravagantly, but never really says anything important. So thats what I’m going to show you, the music is fast but not really important.

The Haydn Effect

The Hadyn effect shows that the child is witty and quick on his feet, quite often bringing a grin to the faces of those around him. I made this music because its kind of goes fast and its fun to play.

Minor Scales

How do you play the minor scales? Well first you need to know your major scale. For the first one, natural minor, you have to lower the third, sixth, and seven note of the major scale a half step. The next one, harmonic minor, you have to lower the third and sixth down. The last one, melodic minor, you have to lower the third note on the way up the scale and then play the natural minor n the way down the scale. And that is how you get the minor scales.

Pep Band

Every week at least once we go and play for the basketball games. We play in between the JV and the Varsity, then half time. I like pep band because we get to go and play for people out side of are band family. Plus at the same time we are cheering on the players. What I don’t like about pep band is that when the weather is bad most people don’t show up, so then we cant play for everyone. But all together I like pep band.

The Nuclear Whales

The Nuclear Whales are a group of six saxophonist. They have two soprano sax players, two alto sax players, one Bari sax player, and one contrabass sax. The group was notable for its contrabass saxophone, which is 203 centimetres tall with a 43-centimetre-diameter bell. It is a very low-pitched instrument that is very rarely heard. I find this group very amazingly talented. There fun to watch and listen to.

Cabin Fever

This past weekend are school put up this thing called Cabin Fever. Its like one giant talent show. This year I was working back stage with curtains or anything they needed help with. All together this year went pretty good. There was a few sound system problems, but it all worked out. I was in Melodic Fusion an all electronics instruments, I was playing bass on my iPad. All the sounds in Melodic Fusion was a bit horrible. The melody part was to soft, my bass sound was to loud. But all together Cabin Fever went pretty good.

Claudio Abbado

The other day in band as we start are day off, are band director showed us a video about Claudio Abbodo. As we listen to the music for about a minute. Claudio ends the wonderful music, but as not like other band directors Claudio stands there for a minute doing nothing at the end. As most of the immature kids in my band class they all said something stupid like “Did he have a heart attack?”. Of course he didn’t. At the end of the music he didn’t do anything. He did this to let the audience sit a minute and think about what they just heard. How they liked it, how they didn’t, what was there favorite instrument, or favorite sound. I think this was pretty good what he did, most people these days not into music like his, don’t think much of the sound. There just like all right another band. Claudio doesn’t want people to think that about his bands, he wants his bands to be different.

Group Evaluations

As Christmas time was around the corner, me and my band friends got into a little group and rearranged one christmas song. My group had Taylor, Amber, Amber, Ellie, and me. As we picked are song, which we all agreed on we started to split the work, to be arranged. So as we came back the next day, and looked at are work only two of us did the work. That went on for another day. So being the person i am and wanting to get this music done, to get a good grade. I did the rest of the work. We all played nice, but one person was just out of the loop. So all together as a group we didn’t do so good.
